Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that one Manchester United target is certain to leave his club this summer.
Indeed, Douglas Luiz is gunning for a return to the Premier League after a disastrous campaign with Juventus, with United among his many suitors offering him a route back to the English top flight.

Luiz departed Aston Villa for Turin last summer in a £42.35 million deal. It came after he played an instrumental role in the side achieving Champions League qualification for the first time in their history via a fourth-placed finish in 2023/2024.
Throughout the term, the Brazilian was one of Unai Emery’s most trusted lieutenants, but left for the Serie A giants before he could reap the rewards of his efforts by playing in Europe with the West Midlands outfit.
He has since endured a turbulent season in Italy, where he was limited to just three league starts across the entirety of 2024/2025. Luiz played only two full 90s all season and was a substitute in 16 matches.
Add that to the fact he was sidelined for around four months due to two separate injury setbacks, and it’s made for a pretty torrid year for the Brazilian international, making it no surprise he’s now adamant about returning to some home comforts in the form of the Premier League.
Last week, when the Juventus squad reported back to base for pre-season training and Luiz was a no-show, the Italian press assumed he was preparing to force a move away by exiling himself from the team’s preparations.
He did join up with his teammates after the weekend, although it was a case of too little, too late, as general manager Damien Comolli said yesterday: “Douglas Luiz disrespected his teammates and the whole group. He apologised right after.”
Fabrizio Romano subsequently verified that the 27-year-old ‘will leave’ Juventus before the window closes.
Meanwhile, United fan and darts icon Luke Little urged the Reds to make a move for Luiz, telling Sky Sports News: “It will be a no-brainer. Whether you want him sitting, whether you want him attacking, he can do it all.”
