Brian Madjo, future Cameroon international

Born in England with Luxembourgish and Cameroonian roots, Brian Madjo has yet to make a definitive choice about his international career. However, several signs already point toward the direction he might take on the global stage.
Virtually unknown to the wider football public until the start of this season, Brian Madjo made headlines by becoming the youngest player in Metz’s history to appear in Ligue 1, making his debut for Les Grenats against Strasbourg on August 17, during the opening matchday of Ligue 1.
The Enfield native sparked conversation when he turned down a call-up from Luxembourg for matches against Slovenia and Northern Ireland in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Despite this, the Luxembourg forward already has three caps for the European nation, having played in friendlies against Sweden (1-0), Switzerland (1-3), and Slovenia (0-1) last March.
While Luxembourg is not ready to give up and is planning a meeting with his representatives, the player seems to have grander ambitions. He could ultimately represent Cameroon or even England in the future.
Worth noting, his father hails from Douala and once played for Cameroon’s U23 team. Perhaps he might persuade his son to pledge his international future to the Indomitable Lions.
