Mike Maignan’s interview with DAZN had to be cut short last night, as confirmed by the club and the TV channel, but the timing was rather unfortunate as the goalkeeper had just been asked about his AC Milan renewal.

It hasn’t been the best of weeks for Mike Maignan, responsible for a howler against Feyenoord, and yesterday’s performance wasn’t very convincing either. Nonetheless, Milan know his qualities and are working on a renewal, as confirmed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic last night.

After the game, when he was speaking to DAZN, Maignan was asked about the renewal with Milan but left the interview before an answer could be provided. It looked strange for those who were watching, and the timing was certainly interesting, but there was a logical reason for it.

As confirmed by the club as well as the TV channel, Maignan had already left the interview prior to the journalist asking the question. This is because he couldn’t hear anything due to a technical issue, prompting Milan’s Communications Manager and DAZN to end the interview, unbeknownst to the journalist up in the stands.

In short, there was no controversy involved and Maignan appears keen on staying at Milan, seeing as the negotiations are at an advanced stage.
