Maboe has officially joined Amakhosi on a permanent basis following his departure from reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 30-year-old marks the club's tenth signing during this transfer period as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Other additions to the team include Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, Ethan Chislett, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Flavio Silva, Etiosa Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi, and Luke Baartman.

Kaizer Chiefs have conveyed their enthusiasm regarding the signing of Lebohang Maboe, viewing his addition as a significant step toward elevating the team's performance. The club has opened the new season in impressive form, securing victories in each of their first three league matches.

Maboe returns to Naturena after previous spells with SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Maritzburg United. Notably, he had initially been part of the club's youth system during his earlier years.

In an official announcement, the club stated: “Kaizer Chiefs have completed the signing of midfielder Lebohang Maboe, making him the tenth addition this season. Welcome back to the Kaizer Chiefs family!”

Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. emphasized that the decision to bring in the experienced midfielder was influenced by his adaptability and extensive professional background.

“We recognize Lebo as a talented player who has accumulated considerable experience in continental competitions in recent seasons. His knowledge will be invaluable for us both domestically and in the CAF Confederation Cup,” Motaung Jr. explained.

“We are delighted to welcome him back to Amakhosi. Having been here before, he understands the culture and the expectations of our supporters.”
