The comeback looked well and truly on in the opening few minutes when Jordi Alba bagged Miami's opener in the opening 10 minutes to cut the deficit on aggregate.

The Herons pushed to really bring the crowd into the affair in the subsequent minutes, but it was after the break when Vancouver finally came alive.

Any Miami remontada hopes were killed shortly into the second-half when Brian White scored for Vancouver, nabbing a massive away goal for the visitors and notably making Whitecaps history to pass Carl Valentine on the club's all-time scoring list.

It took just a few minutes for Vancouver to well and truly kill Inter Miami off when Pedro Vite scored their second and take an emphatic aggregate lead.

Miami may have pushed to pull themselves back into the tie in the dying minutes but it was all for not, as the Whitecaps extended their lead through Sebastian Berhlater past the hour mark, rubbing major salt in the wound of the home side.

The high-flying 'Caps will now turn their attention to Thursday's showdown in Mexico, where they will await the winner of Cruz Azul and Tigres in the final.
