Which Arsenal players made Euro 2024 last-16 & who will they face? | OneFootball

Leandro Trossard became the last of eight Arsenal players to make the last-16 of Euro 2024 on Wednesday night, with three players now eliminated.

With the Euro 2024 group stages coming to an end on Wednesday, the final two Arsenal players in action learned their fate as Belgium took on Ukraine.

Leandro Trossard started for Belgium, whilst Oleksandr Zinchenko came off the bench for Ukraine, with both teams wanting a win but knowing they couldn’t afford to lose.

A defeat for either would have sent them home, but the eventual 0-0 draw eliminated Ukraine and sent group runners-up Belgium to a last-16 match against France. The boos ringing around the ground at full-time appeared to come from both sets of supporters.

Even so, Trossard at least has the consolation that he and Belgium have the opportunity to change some minds in that France fixture. For Zinchenko and Ukraine, the tournament is over.

Zinchenko became the third Arsenal player eliminated from the tournament, with Jakub Kiwior of Poland and Kieran Tierney of Scotland both crashing out over the last week of matches.

Yet Trossard is one of eight Arsenal players who did make the last-16, joining Kai Havertz (Germany), David Raya (Spain), Jorginho (Italy), Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Aaron Ramsdale (England), and William Saliba (France) in the knockout stages.

Raya and Spain face Georgia, whilst Havertz and Germany take on Denmark. Saliba and France face off against Trossard and Belgium, and Rice, Saka, and Ramsdale will come up against Slovakia. Lastly, Jorginho and Italy will take on former Gunner Granit Xhaka with Switzerland.
