When does the 2023/24 EFL Championship, League One and League Two start?

2022/23 is yet to draw to its inevitably thrilling conclusion in the EFL, but talk of 2023/24 has already begun.
With the play-offs yet to conclude, it's not yet completely clear how each of the Championship, League One, and League Two will look come the start of the new season, but we've got a pretty good idea.
Thus, while it's too early for schedules to be released, the EFL has revealed some crucial dates for the 2023/24 campaign, including when the season starts.

The 2023/24 EFL season begins at the start of August with the first game likely to take place on Friday 4 August. The first round of fixtures will take place across that weekend, concluding on Sunday 6 August.
The EFL teams are then straight into Carabao Cup action with the first round scheduled for w/c 7 August. The fixtures should take place across two days on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 August.

The 2023/24 EFL play-offs will take place following the conclusion of the season in May. While dates for the semi-finals have not been published. the EFL has listed when each of the finals will be held at Wembley.
The play-off finals begin with League One on Saturday 18 May 2024 which is quickly followed by the League Two final a day later. The Championship play-off final is scheduled for Sunday 26 May.

The fixture dates have proved to be a mere tease as it won't be until 9am on Thursday 22 June when the full schedules for all 72 EFL clubs are revealed.
