Serie A side Fiorentina are progressing in talks to appoint Stefano Pioli as their new manager ahead of next season but they might have to consider a few factors before announcing him.

Today’s edition of La Nazione (via FirenzeViola) reveals two factors which will influence Stefano Pioli’s appointment as Fiorentina head coach this summer. The Viola are in contact with Pioli’s representatives and the club is ready to table a three-year contract worth a salary of €3 million net per season.

The first key factor that Fiorentina will have to adhere to before announcing the former Scudetto winner with Milan as their manager is the preferential tax treatment in Saudi Arabia. This is a bureaucratic-fiscal aspect that could be easily navigated, and this has arisen due to Pioli’s current managerial role with Al-Nassr. To help Pioli become eligible for the preferential taxation, Fiorentina can agree on a contract with him before July 2 but the official announcement must arrive after the date.

The second issue is the appointment of a coach advisor, who will act as a bridge between the team manager and the club management. Fiorentina’s sporting director Daniele Prade is working on that to resolve the problem and these are the fine details that need to be ironed out before the official announcement.

Keeping in mind the negotiations with Pioli and these factors, Fiorentina continue to probe the market for managerial candidates to avoid getting caught off guard in the event of Pioli declining to join the club.
