It was reported by The Northern Echo last weekend that the Tractor Boys are considering an approach for the forward following their relegation from the Premier League.

It’s been claimed that Kieran McKenna has held an interest in the player for quite some time, with former club Middlesbrough rejecting offers from the Suffolk outfit prior to his move to Atlanta United last January.

Ipswich will be keen to bolster their attacking options this summer as they eye promotion straight back to the Premier League, particularly with Liam Delap’s imminent departure.

Here we look at what Latte Lath’s agent has previously said about Ipswich amid links to a move to Portman Road this summer…

Latte Lath’s Ipswich interest

Ipswich tabled an offer for Latte Lath in the summer of 2024 worth £20 million, but a deal failed to materialise, which led to the player’s agent, Matthias Veneroso discussing the possibility of a move to Portman Road in November 2024.

He claimed that a move to a Premier League side would have been a huge moment for his career, and that it did lead to a dip in form, but he was glad to see the forward return to his goal scoring ways in the weeks leading to his eventual Boro exit.

“I’m delighted to see Emmanuel start to score goals again,” said Veneroso, via Teesside Live.

“It has been a tough period for him.

“There was some frustration after the last day of the window - but not because of the club or anyone personally.

"It was simply an unexpected opportunity to realise a dream - he has always wanted to play in the Premier League.

“That would have been a huge moment for him and would be life-changing economically and professionally.

“Before and immediately after, he was, of course, focused on Middlesbrough, but he is human too.

"When something so huge came as a surprise, it was a strange moment for him too and not easy to manage.

“Since then, it’s not been easy because the team have not always been getting the results they want.

“Emmanuel was often playing well but not getting the goals, and of course, as a striker, you want goals above all else.”

Emmanuel Latte Lath’s Championship experience

Latte Lath made the switch to MLS last January, signing for Atlanta United, where he has been a regular part of the first team squad.

However, the 26-year-old’s record in front of goal hasn’t been as impressive as his time in Michael Carrick’s team.

He has so far scored just five times from 16 appearances in the United States, with Atlanta sitting 13th in the Eastern division.

Latte Lath scored 11 goals from 29 games in the Championship last year prior to his move, as well as scoring 16 from 30 appearances in the previous campaign.
