West Ham United will resist any offers from Saudi Arabia to sign star attacker Mohammed Kudus this winter transfer window, according to The Telegraph. They have no intention of letting him leave the London Stadium.
The Hammers intend to keep the 24-year-old until this summer and plan to stave off interest in his services.
The Saudi Pro League continue to pursue European football stars, and they have changed their model, switching targets from players in the twilight of their careers to those in their prime.
They have moved to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa and submitted a mammoth bid for Brighton & Hove Albion star Kaoru Mitoma, which was rejected.
There have been rumours that they would turn to Kudus next, but the Irons remain solid in their resolve, refusing to sell the Ghana international (with 34 caps).
West Ham are focused on additions to the first team before the winter transfer window closes on Monday.
Hammers manager Graham Potter needs a centre-forward and, much to his irritation earlier today had to field more questions about the club struggling to bring in new players.
West Ham need a new striker to come in through the doors with the crocky Niclas Fullkrug sidelined with another injury and the ageing Michail Antonio recovering from a car accident.
All their moves have hit a dead-end. The Irons submitted a £57 million bid for Duran that didn’t move the needle.
West Ham have since been linked with Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, and despite seemingly having the upper hand thanks to Potter, who has worked with him before, they cannot get the deal over the line.
West Ham could also use defensive reinforcement, but there is no development on that end, with the focus being on recruiting a striker.
