Hammers aim for top half breakthrough after last season’s struggles
West Ham commence their Premier League campaign with the goal of breaking into the top half of the table against newly promoted Sunderland.
Graham Potter took charge of West Ham at the start of the year, replacing Julien Lopetegui with the club sitting 14th in the table. The former Chelsea manager was unable to turn the team's fortunes around as the club finished the season in the same position.
The Hammers are yet to make a notable signing during the opening stages of the summer season but have released the likes of Kurt Zouma, Danny Ings, Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell.
West Ham’s first home game is against Chelsea following their visit to the Stadium of Light. It is part of a tough opening run for them as they settle into the new campaign.
The first meeting of the season between West Ham and Tottenham in a London derby will take place on September 13, before they do it all again on January 17, 2026. They meet Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on October 4 and again in May 2026 for their penultimate home game of the campaign.
The busy Christmas period will see West Ham welcome Fulham to the London Stadium the day after Boxing Day before hosting another of Potter’s former clubs in Brighton to round off the calendar and into 2026. The season concludes at home to newly promoted Leeds.
