West Brom and Rangers are both keen on LASK left-back George Bello ahead of the summer transfer window.
West Brom are interested in LASK left-back George Bello, although they will face competition for the player from Rangers.
The 23-year-old, who has won seven caps for USA, came through the ranks at Atlanta United before making a move to Arminia Bielefeld.
Bello would spend two seasons in Germany, although he wasn’t always a regular, before he made the switch to LASK in 2023.
Yet, it seems another transfer could be on the cards for Bello, as Football Insider has revealed that Rangers and West Brom are keen on the player.
The update explains that the Glasgow outfit have been monitoring Bello for the past few years, and they are now seemingly ready to try to bring him to Ibrox.
However, it won’t be straightforward for Rangers, as they also claim that Albion are also in for Bello as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of what they hope will be a promotion push next season.
Albion endured a disappointing season, with the club falling away from the play-off picture after Carlos Corberan’s decision to depart for Valencia at Christmas.
Tony Mowbray couldn’t make the same impact as the Spaniard, with the former manager sacked prior to the end of the season.
Now, the main focus is on finding Mowbray’s successor, but the club will also be aware that they need to strengthen the squad if the Baggies are to be in a position to win promotion next season.
Left-back is an area of the pitch that Albion will need to address, and whilst Bello is unproven in England, he would arrive with decent pedigree.
Plus, the £1m suggested fee makes him a relatively low-risk move for Albion, and, at 23, he still has plenty of room to develop and improve over the years to come.
So, it would be a decent move for Albion if they could get it over the line, although the rival interest from Rangers is a concern from the Baggies’ perspective.
Not only do they regularly compete for trophies, they will also be able to offer Bello European football, which could potentially be Champions League as well if they navigate their way through the qualifying rounds.
