Werder Bremen star could leave the club this summer | OneFootball

According to Kicker, Werder Bremen star Romano Schmid could leave the club this summer.

The club is aiming to generate a surplus of €7.5m from the current transfer window. For this reason, one of the club’s most valuable players could leave in the coming months if the club receives a lucrative offer for the attacking midfielder.

The 25-year-old Austrian international is keen to take the next step in his career. There have been previously bids from clubs in the USA and Turkey. However, Schmid’s ambitions go beyond both the Turkish SuperLiga and Major League Soccer.

At the start of July, no further talks with any other teams have materialised. From Bremen’s point of view, they would consider offers in and around €15m for the Austrian.

Should an offer north of this fee be submitted, a potential sale could gain momentum.

Schmid has completed four seasons at Bremen since joining in 2020. Last term, he featured in 32 Bundesliga matches, scoring five and assisting four times.
