Timothy Weah says he enjoys playing as a full-back for Juventus as he can be ‘more aggressive’ but insists he and the team can do ‘even more.’

Juventus secured a 4-1 victory over Empoli on Sunday, returning to winning ways after back-to-back defeats against Napoli and Benfica.

Weah started the second consecutive match as a right-back and contributed to Juventus’ second goal in the second half when Randal Kolo Muani deflected his shot on target to give the Bianconeri the lead.

“I’m happy with the performance; I helped the team win,” Weah told DAZN via TMW.

“We did a great job in the second half; it wasn’t an easy game, but we played with the right mental strength. We need to keep going like this, with the right focus for the next one.

“It’s important for us to stay together, we need to keep working on the field,” continued Weah.

“We can do even more, but this game was positive for us. I enjoy playing in this full-back position because I can be more aggressive.”

Weah has five goals and five assists in 24 appearances across all competitions with Juventus this season.

Son of the legendary Milan striker George, Timothy joined Juventus in an €11m deal from Lille in the summer of 2023. His contract at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June 2028.

A USMNT star, Weah made his international debut in March 2018 and has scored six goals in 41 appearances with his national team.
