It was a good match week for AC Milan, as they beat Genoa 2-1 on Monday evening and Patrizio Masini, a Rossoblu midfielder, has had his say on the game.

There was a lot to like about the Milan performance last night, and whilst there were a few struggle moments, the Rossoneri were decent for their money. Above all though, they got three points when they were not at their best.

It is a characteristic that the Diavolo have wrestled with for years, but in recent weeks, we have seen it more often. Milan snatching games when they are not up to their best level – a characteristic that normally defines champions.

Of course, there is a considerable distance between the Rossoneri and being a team fighting for a Scudetto, but there has been a mental switch in recent weeks, and if this can be built upon, who knows.

After the game, Masini spoke about Genoa’s game and where Milan were able to win, and Milan Press relay his words.

“Until 1-1 we played a perfect game, then they were able to punish us right away with the substitutions and with two counterattacks. It’s especially sad for the fans, they always supported us by applauding us after a defeat, let alone if a victory had arrived.”
