Enzo Maresca has shut down speculation about the future of Noni Madueke and insisted the winger can be considered a Chelsea player for next season.

It’s been reported the Blues are open to offers for Madueke this summer despite being short on numbers in the wide areas following the departure of Jadon Sancho.

Whilst a striker was the main priority this summer, the Blues now turn their attention to bringing a winger in, and they currently only have three in their Club World Cup squad, with Pedro Neto and Tyrique George joining Madueke.

Maresca speaks on Madueke future

Madueke improved under Maresca last season, a campaign which saw him become a full England international, and he scored seven goals and registered four assists in 32 Premier League appearances.

The 23-year-old was a key player as the Blues secured Champions League qualification and won the Conference League.

However, there’s been speculation about his future, and Arsenal are said to have Madueke on their radar, although Chelsea aren’t thought to be looking to actively sell the England international.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Brazilian side Flamengo on Friday, Maresca moved to shut down speculation.

“Noni is our player, you can read a lot of speculation at the moment but we consider Noni our player for the coming season,” he told his pre-match press conference.

Madueke arrived from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and is under contract until 2030, with Chelsea having a club option of a further year.

Malick Fofana Jamie Gittens on the radar

Chelsea have identified Jamie Gittens as their priority target, but are yet to agree a fee with Borussia Dortmund having had a £42m bid rejected earlier this month.

Gittens has agreed terms on a seven year contract with Chelsea and it’s thought a total package of £47m could be enough for Dortmund to accept.

Chelsea are also interested in Malick Fofana and are thought to have made a verbal enquiry to Lyon for the 20-year-old.

Fofana is reportedly also attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester United with Lyon thought to want €50m for the winger.
