The question we were asking Newcastle United fans on Monday was – Where do you now think Newcastle United will finish this season in the Premier League?
We are now into the third international break.
Newcastle United having played 14 matches so far this season, eleven in the Premier League and three in the League (Carabao) Cup.
Eight wins, three draws and three defeats, in total.
Progress into the last eight of the Carabao Cup via wins over Chelsea, Forest and AFC Wimbledon.
Whilst currently with 18 points from a possible 33 in the Premier League.
As you can see, Eddie Howe’s side just one point off third spot, ten points off the top.
Next up are West Ham on Monday 25 November at St James’ Park.
We know it is very early doors, still 27 Premier League matches to go, but if you had to put your mortgage/rent on it, what is your gut feeling on where Newcastle United will end up in this 2024/25 season?
Our thanks to all who voted and here is the collective result from Newcastle United fans on how they think NUFC will do this season (percentages rounded up or down to nearest whole number):
1st – 1%
2nd – 2%
3rd – 9%
4th – 26%
5th – 31%
6th – 20%
7th – 7%
8th – 3%
9th – 0%
10th – 0%
11th – 0%
12th – 0%
13th – 0%
14th – 0%
15th – 0%
16th – 0%
17th – 0%
18th – 0%
19th – 0%
20th – 0%
Conclusions
Only a very small handful of those voting, voted for a bottom half position. Indeed, no position below 8th getting 0.51% of the total vote that would have seen a 1% put against that placing.
Fifth place just marginally the most popular with 31% of the vote, whilst fourth got 26%, then 20% saying sixth.
Which is the real story I think of the voting, 77% of the Newcastle United fans believing somewhere between fourth and sixth is most likely.
Averaging out all the votes, Newcastle United fans collectively thought fifth was the most likely finishing position (it averaged out at 4.9).
