Wales will look to cement their place as group leaders when Craig Bellamy’s team take on Belgium in World Cup qualification tonight.
The Dragons have taken seven points from their first three games and are now unbeaten in nine across all competitions. On Friday, Wales eased to a 3-0 win over Liechtenstein in Cardiff courtesy of goals from Joe Rodon, Harry Wilson and Kieffer Moore.
Wales now face a tough examination of their credentials against a Belgium side ranked eighth in the world. Belgium began their qualification campaign with a 1-1 draw in North Macedonia on Friday.
Leeds United winger Dan James will miss tonight’s clash due to illness, head coach Craig Bellamy has confirmed.
Wales also remain without captain Aaron Ramsey due to injury, while the midfielder has agreed a shock deal to join Mexican club Pachucha this week.
Bellamy will be tempted to name an unchanged side from the win over Liechtenstein, that saw Wales fire 26 shots on goal and restrict their opponents to zero. However, an extra body could be added in midfield with Harry Wilson used in an unfamiliar deeper role on Friday night.
Wales predicted XI: Darlow; Roberts, Rodon, Davies, Williams; Ampadu, Sheehan; Johnson, Wilson, Thomas; Moore.
Belgium host Wales in World Cup qualification on Monday 9th June 2025. Kick-off is 7:45pm BST.
Viewers in Wales can watch the match on BBC One Wales, with coverage also available on BBC Three and S4C.
