AC Milan’s hopes of being able to offload Divock Origi have been handed a boost because some clubs from Turkey have come forward, a report claims.

Origi arrived at Milan on a free transfer in the 2022 summer transfer window that followed the Scudetto-winning season and he was meant to be a reliable alternative to an ageing Olivier Giroud.

However, he struggled with fitness for significant stretches and when he did play he made very little impact, scoring just two goals all season. Thus, last summer it became clear that the Rossoneri were trying to offload him.

A season-long loan deal to Nottingham Forest with an option to buy was completed right at the end of the last summer mercato, though he scored just one goal there and again failed to make much of a mark.

He returns to Milanello and there were worries that Geoffrey Moncada and his team might struggle to find new accommodation for the Belgian after two sub-par seasons.

However, according to the latest from Anto Vitiello of MilanNews, the first contacts from Turkish clubs have arrived for Origi. The clubs are not named, but of course there is an opening on Milan’s part to evaluating potential solutions.
