Darren Bent has ripped into Enzo Fernandez following Chelsea’s heavy defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Fernandez, who is a World Cup winner with Argentina joined the Blues in January 2023 for a then British record £107m from Portuguese club Benfica.

The Argentine stood out in Graham Potter’s struggling side last season, and despite showing signs of improvement this campaign, scoring seven goals in all competitions, his performance’s have come in for criticism.

It must be said the 23-year-old has been playing through a hernia issue for large parts of the season, having injections before games to try and reduce the pain, which can’t be helping his form.

Despite this former Premier League striker Bent believes Fernandez hasn’t done anything to justify his price tag and said “can anyone tell me what he does well?, whilst also criticising the midfielder’s lack of awareness of what’s going on around him.
