Colombia international Yerry Mina explains the controversial gesture towards Juventus fans after the Cagliari goal that got him booked. ‘I didn’t like the way they treated Juan Cuadrado.’

The Bianconeri were held to their fourth Serie A stalemate of the campaign, as the Dusan Vlahovic penalty was cancelled out by a late Razvan Marin spot-kick.

When that was converted to equalise, the Cagliari players ran to celebrate in front of the fans.

However, Mina was spotted making a specific gesture higher up towards the section of Juventus ultras behind the goal, forming a square with his hands.

“I am really good friends with Cuadrado and I didn’t like the way he was treated when he left here, so I had to say something,” explained Mina on DAZN after the final whistle.

The Juve fans responded angrily and Mina was booked, partly for that celebration, partly for trying to slow the Bianconeri from resuming play.

Cuadrado wore the Juve jersey for many years, but when his contract was allowed to run down, he joined their rivals Inter as a free agent, helping them win the Scudetto.

The full-back is now playing for Atalanta.
