Italy international Ciro Immobile made the perfect start to his Besiktas career, scoring in the opening minute of the Turkish Super Cup showdown with Galatasaray.

The 34-year-old completed the transfer this summer from Lazio at a cost of roughly €3m, although he took a pay cut to help the move go through.

He made his competitive debut for the club this evening, walking out in the starting XI of the Ataturk Olimpiyat stadium in Istanbul against arch-rivals Galatasaray.

The centre-forward really could not have asked for a better start to his Turkish career, finding the net after 22 seconds of the TFF Süper Kupa.

The Italian pounced on a defensive error caused by an irregular bounce, went clear on goal and kept his cool to beat the goalkeeper Nando Muslera after just 22 seconds.

He scored 207 goals in 340 competitive appearances in the Lazio jersey, along with 54 assists.
