RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic delivered a dressing room speech after a memorable 3-2 win over Inter in the Supercoppa Final on Monday: ‘What we wanted was a reaction. This is our reaction.’

The Rossoneri won the 50th title in their history last night, beating their city rivals Inter in Riyadh.

Milan recovered from two goals down, claiming a 3-2 victory in the dying minutes.

“We’ve reached one of our aims. What we wanted was a reaction. This is our reaction, guys,” Ibrahimovic told the team after the match, as shown by Milan in an Instagram video.

“Before I speak, I want to compliment the coach and his staff. Great work in just a few days. Luckily, he had a fever; if not, he’d have broken more than a TV. Congrats to the players, too.”

Conceiçao was hired on December 30, replacing the fired Paulo Fonseca.

“You sweated to win this, made sacrifices, were hungry,” continued Ibrahimovic.

“When a team has this desire to win, it’s hard to be beaten. You showed that today. At the start of the season. I told you: ‘It all depends on us because it’s all in our heads.’ You showed that today.

“Now we are going back to Italy, so let’s bring this mentality and pick up points to get where we need to be.

“I also want to congratulate the team here with us. It’s also your merit, even if you’re not famous and not on the pitch, but you are important, just like everyone out on the pitch.

“What else do I need to say? Guys, this is Milan; we play for these trophies. If you want to go down in Milan’s history, you need to win titles.”

Ibrahimovic also congratulated the team on behalf of club owner Gerry Cardinale.
