Chelsea looked the more likely to score in an tense first half at Stamford Bridge, and they’ve got their well deserved goal right after half time.

It’s come from a familiar source – the in form Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine scored in the first game against Spurs this season, and he’s grabbed another in a big derby game.

That continues his impressive form from the international break, where he grabbed a goal and an assist for Argentina in their game against Brazil last week. For both club and country, he’s really improving and finding his best form again.

Its source was the returning Cole Palmer, who worked his way out to the left flank after some nice interplay.

On his favoured left foot, Palmer flighted in a perfect ball from there, picking out Fernandez who had timed his run perfectly. The cross was close enough that Enzo could head it in and give the goalkeeper no chance,

Jadon Sancho finally takes a shot against Tottenham.

We’ve seen Chelsea take the lead in countless games this season, then sit back and try to protect that lead. That can’t happen here. They have to use the enthusiasm they’ve generated in the stadium and the lack of confidence in their opposition to see this game off as efficiently as possible.

That means adding a second goal – Moises Caicedo’s strike has been ruled out for offside, but we have to keep pressing for another one. For once we have some good depth on the bench that should hopefully allow us to keep energy levels high even into the final minutes.
