Manchester United recently returned to winning ways with a 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
The Red Devils will now take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday. Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in interim charge as manager.
However, the club have already confirmed an agreement to sign Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP as their new head coach.
The 39-year-old will formally join the club on November 11 and will be in the dugout after the next international break.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Diogo Dalot was asked for his immediate reaction and he praised ‘perfect’ Amorim.
Dalot said: “He is a fantastic coach. Very demanding, that is what I can expect and I think that is a perfect match for a club like this. He has very high standards.”
Amorim will be joining United with a huge reputation, having guided Sporting CP to the Primeira Liga title for the first time in 19 years.
The 39-year-old took four years to transform Sporting into a force in Portugal, and United will have to be patient with him.
His first task will be to transform the club’s league fortunes and help them qualify for the Champions League next term.
United’s defensive record could improve under the Portuguese, who prefers to operate with a three-man central defence.
Up front, Rasmus Hojlund is far from a complete striker compared to Viktor Gyokeres at Sporting CP.
United will be hoping that Hojlund as well as Joshua Zirkzee can develop into genuine scoring strikers under his tutelage.
