The Ivorian international midfielder faces a double rejection ahead of the 2025-2026 season.
Lazare Amani
Lazare Amani has failed to convince either Standard or his parent club, Union Saint-Gilloise. After a loan spell in Liège that was deemed lackluster, the Ivorian midfielder finds himself with no prospect of an extension and is forced to seek a new professional challenge.
Lazare Amani endured a difficult 2024-2025 season. Loaned out to Standard de Liège for the second half of the campaign, he alternated between impressive performances and periods of inconsistency (18 matches, 2 goals). Despite his contributions to the team, the Liège club has decided not to activate their purchase option, according to La Dernière Heure. Upon returning to Union Saint-Gilloise, the situation remained unchanged for the 27-year-old. He still does not figure in Sébastien Pocognoli’s plans. In fact, Lazare Amani is absent from the Unionists’ pre-season training camp in Tubize.
While his contract with Union runs until 2027, both the Ivorian midfielder and the club would reportedly prefer to end their association, according to some sources. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that the 2023 AFCON champion has no known suitors in this summer’s transfer window. For now, his future remains uncertain.
