- Universal Studios has submitted planning documents for a new theme park in Bedford, UK, which could feature some of Europe's tallest rides.
- The proposed park aims to include attractions based on popular film franchises such as Minions, Jaws, and Jurassic Park, with structures potentially reaching 377ft (115m).
- The company is seeking planning permission through a special development order, allowing government approval to expedite the process.
- The theme park is projected to open by 2031, anticipating 8.5 million annual visitors and creating 8,500 jobs, predominantly for local residents.
- Extensive infrastructure plans include a new A421 junction, dual carriageway access, Wixams rail station expansion, and on-site hotels, with public consultation on the proposals concluding on 31 August.
