Uncertain reception awaits as Kylian Mbappé set for Parc des Princes return | OneFootball

Kylian Mbappé (25) will return to the Parc des Princes for the first time since he left Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid over the summer. France take on Italy in the Nations League at the PSG home ground tonight and the captain is expected to start for the World Cup finalists and Euros semi-finalists.

Despite being the face of Les Bleus, there are some questions about how Mbappé will be received at the Parc. Mbappé’s last game at the stadium had a strange and strained atmosphere. The forward was whistled ahead of the match against Toulouse FC and the discontent only settled once the PSG ultras made it clear that they wanted to honour the player.

The France national team will be hoping that because Mbappé comes to the Parc representing France rather than arriving as a Real Madrid player, he’ll be embraced by the stadium. However, as an insider of the stadium revealed to L’Équipe, “The more PSG fans there are, the more he will be booed. There is real resentment today.”
