La Liga giants Real Madrid could yet be afforded a boost in their hopes of getting the better of Bayern Munich, by none other than UEFA.

Real, of course, booked a two-legged showdown with German heavyweights Bayern earlier this week.

As much came courtesy of a Champions League quarter-final downing of reigning holders Manchester City.

In their hopes of marching on to yet another showpiece appearance, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will first make the trip to the Allianz Arena, before welcoming Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern to Spain’s capital.

And, in the latter outing, the atmosphere could yet be swung completely in the favour of the hosts.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of BILD that an investigation will be opened into the behaviour of Bayern’s supporters in their quarter-final 2nd-leg victory over Arsenal.

The home crowd were responsible for an eye-catching ‘pyro show’ at the Allianz, which could yet land them in hot water.

The Bavarians were previously banned from having any supporters in attendance in north London, owing to ongoings in the stands en route to their downing of Lazio in the Champions League’s round-of-16.

And a similar sanction could well await the Bayern faithful, for their trip to the Santiago Bernabéu early next month.
