Two leading members of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid were subjected to racist abuse on the part of members of the home crowd in attendance at their most recent outing.

Xabi Alonso’s troops were of course back in action this past weekend.

With sights on a 2nd win from two to open the campaign, Real Madrid made the trip to the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, for a meeting with newly-promoted Real Oviedo.

When all was said and done, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result.

And it was Los Blancos’ two star names, in Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr, who netted the goals on the evening.

Unfortunately, however, it was also these two players who were the targets of racially-motivated abuse at the Carlos Tartiere.

As revealed by Diario AS, citing footage from El Dia Despues:

‘At least two fans made monkey noises in the direction of Mbappé and Vinicius.’

The first came after Mbappé opened the game’s scoring, before Vinícius was subjected to the same after emerging onto the pitch from the bench.
