AC Milan have decided to end their pursuit of Adrien Rabiot, a report claims, with the economic aspects of the deal meaning that the decision is very much understandable.

Rabiot is still without a club having left Juventus when his contract expired at the end of June, and Milan have been among the teams most concretely linked with a move, along with Saudi clubs and also Barcelona.

The injury that Ismael Bennacer suffered during the international break gave rise to rumours that the management could try again for the Frenchman, as well as for other free agents like Davy Klaassen and Morale Panic.

However, there are various reasons why this will not happen, as per today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan). The first is because a signing made now would not be included in the squad list for the Champions League, with the deadline having already passed.

The second is that Rabiot declined the two offers that the Rossoneri put forward to him during the summer, with the second being a higher one than the first. He did not want to be without a team at this stage, but the demands set be he and his mother-agent are too high for any club at present.
