Ousmane Diomandé
If you want to secure the services of young Ivorian defender Ousmane Diomandé, be prepared to write a hefty check. Sporting has just set the price for their player’s departure.
Sporting CP has made its intentions crystal clear regarding the future of Ivorian defender Ousmane Diomandé. According to Record, the center-back will not be sold for less than €60 million, including bonuses. This firm stance comes as several European clubs, including Crystal Palace, have shown interest in the young Ivory Coast international.
Protected by an €80 million release clause, Diomandé is considered indispensable to the sporting project led by coach Rui Borges. Though only 20 years old, he has established himself as a defensive pillar for the Leões and remains under contract until June 2027. Talks are already underway with the Lisbon club’s management for a contract extension, a clear sign that Sporting aims to further strengthen its position on this matter.
Again according to Record, Crystal Palace had made Ousmane Diomandé a top target to bolster their defense this summer. The London club was ready to invest up to €30 million to convince Sporting, but this approach was immediately rejected by the Portuguese side, who didn’t even consider that amount as a starting point for negotiations.
Faced with such a categorical response, the English club has decided to withdraw any formal offer for the player.
