Arsenal look to have been handed a late January transfer boost with Benjamin Sesko said to have already picked the club over Chelsea or Manchester United. The Gunners are still being heavily linked with Matheus Cunha as they seek a new striker before the deadline, while Arsenal are also now said to have opened talks over a deal for midfield starlet Sverre Nypan but face a battle with Manchester City.

There is rumoured to be confidence that Chelsea will sign Alejandro Garnacho this month, with discussions already held with Manchester United over a shock swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku heading to Old Trafford. Chelsea could also pursue another new goalkeeper in Zion Suzuki, while United have made a fresh bid for left-back Patrick Dorgu at Lecce.

Tottenham and West Ham have been linked with Brian Brobbey as they both seek new additions in the next week, with Liverpool having their eye on Rayan Cherki and Manchester City potentially looking at another Ederson and Douglas Luiz having bid farewell to Kyle Walker. Tottenham forward wanted by MLS side

Timo Werner’s future has been the subject of speculation since the start of January amid his struggles at Tottenham, and New York Red Bulls are now said be interested in signing him.

Werner is on loan at Spurs from RB Leipzig but the German has had a poor season and is currently out with a hamstring injury.

Spurs want to sign a new forward this month but it remains to be seen if they would let Werner leave, given the lack of forward options available to Ange Postecoglou due to their injury crisis.

Postecoglou has said Spurs would be “playing with fire” if they do not recruit this month.

Man Utd try to thrash out Dorgu deal

Manchester United are “not giving up” in their bid to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

United had an opening offer of around £25million rejected but negotiations are continuing and Fabrizio Romano says add-ons could be included to make a deal happen in the final week of the window.

Lecce are said to be holding out for a total package worth around £33.6m for the 20-year-old left-back.

Lecce manager Marco Giampaolo said yesterday: “Top European clubs want him so it’s normal to be affected at some point… but he’s very mature and serious guy.

“I don’t think transfer news are going to create any issues, this week he’s been working very well.”

Napoli confirm Garnacho interest

Napoli have confirmed their interest in signing Alejandro Garnacho before the January transfer window deadline.

Manna told Gianluca Di Marzio: "Karim Adeyemi and Alejandro Garnacho are two names that interest us, that we like. They are not the only ones, we will try to evaluate the opportunities.

"We will certainly not pay off-market prices. Kvara [Khvicha Kvaratskhelia] must be replaced, a transfer for the player's will

"We are not holding back. We also have other ideas, let's see what happens in the next few days."

Veiga set to seal Chelsea loan exit

Renato Veiga looks set to clinch his exit from Chelsea this weekend.

The versatile Portuguese international only arrived at Stamford Bridge from Swiss outfit FC Basel in the summer, but is now heading out on loan to Serie A with Juventus.

According to Fabrizio Romano, everything has been agreed now for Veiga to seal his switch to Turin.

He will undergo a medical and officially sign his contract this weekend, remaining with Juve until the end of the current season.

The loan will include no obligation or option for a permanent transfer, so the 21-year-old - who apparently wants to spend more time playing at centre-back - will be back at Chelsea in the summer.

Newcastle plan Isak contract talks

Newcastle will offer Alexander Isak a huge new contract at the end of the season in an attempt to keep him out of the grasps of interested clubs, such as Arsenal.

The Telegraph report that the striker is not for sale at any price despite talks over an extension last year being paused, and discussions were begin again in the summer.

It is understood that £150million would tempt Newcastle into selling, a price which is realistically out of reach for any club, while the striker has not been distracted by continual transfer speculation.

But a summer bidding war is anticipated, and Newcastle want to get ahead of it by making Isak the highest-paid player in their history.

Real Madrid want to sign Fernandez without paying a transfer fee

Real Madrid are plotting an audacious move for Chelsea captain Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez is a target for the Spanish giants, though they hope to sign the £107million midfielder without paying a transfer fee.

That is because, according to reports from South America, Madird want to negotiate a swap deal by offering Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni, who cost almost £70m in 2022, is reportedly open to leave Madrid because he's been played out of position in defence.

Fernandez initially struggled at Chelsea but has since grown into a key player in the team.

West Ham clear to sign Brobbey after Tottenham links

The path looks clear for West Ham to sign Brian Brobbey.

The Dutch international forward has apparently been offered to the Hammers by Ajax, who will only accept a permanent transfer this month or at least an obligation to buy in the summer rather than a straight loan deal.

It remains to be seen if West Ham will be willing to commit to that, though it seems that Tottenham will not battle their London rivals for Brobbey.

Standard Sport understands that he is not a player currently on Spurs’ transfer radar amid reports of their interest on Friday.

Sanchez u-turn?

Enzo Maresca has said Robert Sanchez will remain Chelsea’s No1 for the remainder of the season.

However, will the Blues boss change his mind following yet another costly mistake from the goalkeeper in today’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City?

Well, this is what Maresca has said: “I’m not thinking about the seasons coming. I’m thinking about this season.

“For this season? No doubt. But then in the future, we don't know. It is not only about Robert. It is not even about me, you know? I’m focused on this moment, this season. Since we started, Robert is getting better, but he is still far from where I want him to be.”
