Interviewed during a padel tournament in the coastal Ortona, former Roma captain Francesco Totti made some statements on the Giallorossi’s managerial situation this season.
Appearing on RaiNews24, Totti was asked to compare his friend and current Roma boss Daniele De Rossi to his predecessor Jose Mourinho, who was sacked in January.
“Mourinho or De Rossi? No comparison, Mou is number one. Daniele is showing his worth and his dedication to Roma,” he stated. “He has his entire career ahead of him.”
“As for myself, I’m neither regretful nor disappointed that they [Roma] haven’t called me back [to re-join in an executive capacity].”
The former number 10 also commented on the capital club’s impending appointment of Nice executive Florent Ghisolfi, who will become the new Sporting Director.
“Clearly the club know a lot about him. Hopefully he adapts to Italian football as soon as possible and I wish him the best at Roma.”
