Tottenham have appointed Martin Ho as the new head coach of their women’s team.

Ho has signed a three-year deal and comes in to replace Robert Vilahamn, who was sacked by Spurs last month after they finished second-bottom in the Women’s Super League.

Vilahamn had guided Tottenham to their first Women’s FA Cup final in the previous season, but their dip in form during his second year led to him being axed.

Ho arrives with a growing reputation after leading Norwegian side Brann to the quarter-finals of the Champions League during the 2023-24 season.

Brann also finished second in the Norwegian top-flight last year to secure qualification for the Champions League.

They are currently second in table this year, with the Norwegian domestic season running from April to November.

Before success at Brann as a No1, Ho had been working at Manchester United as an assistant to their head coach, Marc Skinner.

Ho was part of the United backroom staff that helped the club reach the Women’s FA Cup final in 2023 and finish second in the WSL.

In a statement on Friday morning, Tottenham said: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Ho as our new Women’s Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028.

“We are excited for Martin to lead the team as we prepare for our seventh season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“Further updates on Martin’s coaching staff will follow in due course.”
