According to an exclusive report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur made direct contact with Brentford head coach Thomas Frank during the week.
Frank reportedly spoke with Tottenham about the project and summer transfer targets that he would be keen on securing. Foot Mercato writes that Frank is not the only manager on Tottenham’s shortlist if Ange Postecoglou were to be sacked. However, he is one of the favourites.
Postecoglou remains in a strange position ahead of talks next week with the club. Tottenham have had a poor season in the league, finishing the campaign in 17th place. However, the former Celtic man also brought an end to the long wait for silverware, winning the Europa League against Manchester United.
Postecoglou’s future is still very much in the air, and it appears as if Tottenham are not ruling out moving on from him, with Frank having earned a reputation for repeatedly building Brentford squads that finish well above their means.
