Barcelona secured their place in the Copa del Rey final after beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of the semi-finals last night.
A thrilling 4-4 draw in the first leg set up an exciting reverse fixture at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The Catalan giants started the game on the front foot, with Lamine Yamal causing problems for the hosts in the final third.
The Spanish winger set up Ferran Torres with a brilliant defence-splitting pass before the half-hour mark.
Torres, who has been in fine form lately, turned it into the net past Jan Oblak to put Barca ahead.
Raphinha had an excellent opportunity to double the lead in the second half, but he squandered it.
Atletico’s attackers looked out of sorts throughout the game, failing to register a shot on target.
Their only opportunity came when Alexander Sorloth thought he had equalised, only for his strike to be ruled out for offside.
The defeat stretched Atletico’s winless run to six games in all competitions.
This was their second elimination in less than a month, following their exit from the Champions League against Real Madrid in the last 16.
Hansi Flick’s side extended their stellar unbeaten run since the start of the year with the victory.
Yamal delivered yet another sublime performance, continuing his rich vein of form. He has now scored 13 goals and assisted 19 times in all competitions this season.
His compatriot Torres continued his purple patch by scoring in the fourth consecutive game for the Catalan giants. He has bagged nine goals since February.
Barcelona will face Madrid in the Copa del Rey final. Los Blancos defeated Real Sociedad in their semi-final.
