Following the departure of Matheus Cunha, Wolverhampton Wanderers have intensified their search for attacking reinforcements to bolster their squad. Manager Vitor Pereira is particularly keen to add depth to the frontline, especially amid growing speculation that Jorgen Strand Larsen could also be nearing an exit from the club.

In response to this potential void, the club has proactively entered negotiations to sign Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, talks are advancing positively and an agreement is now considered close. The 24-year-old striker arrives with a proven goalscoring record, having finished as the top scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League last season.

This move for Arokodare presents a potential alternative after a separate deal for another Nigerian striker, Christantus Uche, collapsed. While Wolves had successfully negotiated a fee with Getafe for Uche, the transfer ultimately fell through due to an inability to reach personal terms with the player.

It remains unclear whether Arokodare is being targeted as a direct replacement for the potentially departing Strand Larsen, or if the club's ambition is to acquire both forwards before the window closes. The player, who is under contract with KRC Genk until June 2027, holds an estimated market value of €18 million according to Transfermarkt. His current salary is reported to be €482,560.
