Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has been speaking out and warns that Blues fans might have to wait until 2042 for a new stadium.
The new comes after Chelsea beat Premier League winners Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in what was a fantastic overall performance by The Blues.
Cole Palmer was back in fine form for Chelsea and is one of the reasons that they put in such a good performance, with the stats proving this as well.
Palmer was also involved in Chelsea’s first goal of the game in the opening minutes, as well as some good work by Romeo Lavia and Pedro Neto to setup Enzo Fernandez to provide a lovely finish to get things going.
The Blues owners are looking to either build a new stadium on a new site such as Earls Court that has been mentioned a lot, or they need to demolish Stamford Bridge and build it up again from scratch, or stand by stand.
Neither of these options are going to be easy or straightforward to do, and moving to a new site would give more of a chance of increased capacity.
But Chelsea fans might need to wait until 2042 to see this come to fruition.

Bloomberg, via CityAM, report that Chelsea fans may need to wait until 2042 before they can move from Stamford Bridge to a new home, co-owner Todd Boehly warned on Tuesday.
Boehly said: “It’s years [until plans come to fruition] in the making. When we originally bought the club we agreed initially that we had 15 or 20 years to figure this out but it is a big project in a really interesting city like London where there’s a lot of constituencies that have an opinion.
“Obviously the number one constituency for us is our fan base and what’s going to be the best for Chelsea.
“I think everyone recognises that a club as big as Chelsea should have a stadium that reflects the size of the club and ultimately that’s going to be a strategic advantage.”
