Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has confirmed Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos isn’t for sale this summer.

The Blues are once again set for a busy window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker.

Chelsea could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players, with a number of squad members surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Boehly excited by Andrey Santos

Whilst incomings are going to be important, Chelsea will also be looking to keep hold of as many as their talented youngsters as possible.

Santos falls into that category and having excelled at Strasbourg this season, scoring ten goals in Ligue 1, and the 21-year-old has attracted interested from some of Europe’s top clubs.

The Brazilian is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues having joined from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in January 2023 for around £13m.

Santos is expected to have a key role in the squad next season, and Boehly has spoken about his excitement to see the midfielder involved in the next campaign.

“We are laser focused on the Club World Cup,” he told the Qatar Economic Forum as cited on X.com.

“We have some players that are joining us [like] Andrey Santos. We are really excited about him and what he can add to the squad.”

Essugo set to further bolster the midfield

Santos won’t be the only midfielder arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer, with Dario Essugo set to join before the Club World Cup.

The Blues agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon worth £18.5m in March for the 20-year-old and he could make his debut in America next month.

Essugo is expected to provide back-up for Moises Caicedo, who has had an outstanding campaign, and along with Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia the Blues have some of the best midfield options in the league.
