Arsenal are having the time of their lives away from home this evening as Mikel Arteta's Gunners have blitzed potential dark horse PSV Eindhoven.
With the club's preferred front three all out due to injury, a tricky tie at Philips Stadion was meant to offer a stern test for Arsenal, who have struggled mightily in front of goal after the losses of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Martinelli.
But there have been no such struggles tonight, with Arteta's men leading 5-1 just after halftime after three of their four shots have beaten Boeren shot-stopper Walter Benítez before the interval.
First, former Ajax starlet and Dutch international Jurriën Timber got one over on his formal Eredivisie rivals with his first-ever goal in the Champions League after a lovely close-range header found its way home.
That was quickly followed up by a thunderous effort from Ethan Nwaneri, also from close range, after he was teed up by fellow Hale End graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly.
A mistake at the back by PSV youngster Ryan Flamingo gifted Mikel Merino another goal as a makeshift centre-forward when he slid his effort past Benítez from inside the six-yard box; his first in the competition for the Gunners.
The Dutch giants did peg one back through Noa Lang after Thomas Partey needlessly brought Luuk de Jong down in the box.
It would be of little consequence, however, with Martin Ødegaard and Leandro Trossard restoring and extending their goal cushion just after the break, with Arsenal looking primed to reach the quarterfinals.
What goalscoring crisis?
