Juventus could allow three current first-team players to leave in January in order to make way for fresh reinforcements according to Sunday’s reports, as Cristiano Giuntoli and his recruitment team hope to bring in at least two new additions in a few weeks’ time.
Juventus are looking to add at least one defender and ideally another attacker to their ranks after the cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. There are also talks of a new forward coming in to support Dusan Vlahovic, who is the only fit and available option in the no.9 role.
According to reports over the weekend, the Bianconeri would be prepared to sacrifice Next Gen graduate Samuel Mbangula if it meant they were able to bring in a couple of new defenders in January.
The recently-called-up Belgium international only made his senior debut at the beginning of the 2024-25 season, scoring Juve’s first goal of the campaign in an eventual 3-0 win over Como in August.
Mbangula celebrates his first Juventus goal in a 3-0 Serie A win against Como.
According to reports from Tuttosport, Juventus are also prepared to allow Arthur Melo to leave. That has been the case since the summer, but a move away from the Allianz Stadium never quite materialised for the former Barcelona man.
Though Juventus want defensive additions, they could also be ready to part company with captain Danilo, who is capable of covering at right-back and centre-half.
The Brazilian’s contract is due to expire and he is expected to leave Juventus then, anyway, and given that he is not currently a regular in Thiago Motta’s starting XI, his wages could be invested elsewhere if an offer comes in in January.
