Tottenham Hotspur moved swiftly on deadline day to reinforce their forward line, completing a loan deal for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain. The decision came after medical scans revealed that Dominic Solanke required surgery on an ankle injury, leaving Spurs with only Richarlison and Mathys Tel as centre-forward options.
Thomas Frank, who took charge of Tottenham earlier this summer, expressed his enthusiasm following the announcement. Speaking to the club’s official channels, Frank said:
“Randal is a quality player who has proven himself over a number of years, playing for big teams in the Champions League and also with good experience for the France national team.
“He’s a good age, in the prime of his career, has good qualities that will suit both us and the Premier League, and gives us a different option in the final third being able to play out wide and through the middle.
“We are all excited for what Randal can add to the squad, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
The comments underline Frank’s determination to build a competitive side that can handle the demands of domestic and European football.

Kolo Muani, 25, arrives with a strong reputation, having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga before his high-profile move to PSG. His versatility across the front line makes him an appealing addition for Spurs, who needed depth after Solanke’s setback. The French international has demonstrated his ability to operate both centrally and on the flanks, attributes that Frank is keen to integrate into Tottenham’s evolving attacking structure.
His arrival adds experience from Champions League campaigns and major international tournaments, which could prove invaluable for a Spurs squad looking to maintain momentum in multiple competitions this season.
The loan arrangement with PSG is seen within the club as a pragmatic move, providing immediate reinforcement without committing to a long-term financial outlay. With the window closing, securing a player of Kolo Muani’s calibre at short notice was viewed as an efficient piece of business by Tottenham Hotspur.
For Frank, the priority was ensuring his side retained the firepower necessary to compete at the highest level. Bringing in a proven forward offers tactical flexibility, while also giving supporters cause for optimism as the season gathers pace.
