West Ham United bounced back from two consecutive defeats to claim a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at the London Stadium.
The match was of huge significance to Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui, who might not have survived if he had lost to Wolves.
West Ham applied a lot of pressure in the first-half, but couldn’t create many scoring chances.
Tomas Soucek produced a moment of quality after 54 minutes when he headed home Jarrod Bowen’s cross to score the opener.
Matt Doherty levelled the scores for the visitors, only for Bowen to net the winner in the 72nd minute.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was particularly impressed with Soucek, calling him an ‘absolute revelation’ for the Irons.
The former Liverpool star said: “This guy has been an absolute revelation since he’s come to West Ham. David Moyes brings him in. He’s scored 12 goals from corners since he joined them. Only Gabriel has got more than him in the Premier League”.

Soucek, who currently earns £90k-per-week, has been one of the most important players for West Ham this season.
The 29-year-old has featured in 14 Premier League matches this term, scoring four goals in the process.
Playing in various midfield roles, he has averaged 1.1 tackles, 2.4 clearances, 1.6 ball recoveries and 2.1 shots per game in the English top-flight.
Soucek joined West Ham in January 2020, initially on a loan deal that was later made permanent.
Since his arrival in East London, he has clocked up 223 appearances in all competitions, with 36 goals and 11 assists to his name.
