PSG booked their spot in the semifinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with a dramatic win over Bayern Munich on Saturday in Atlanta. After a tense, scoreless first half, the match came to life in the closing stages.
Désiré Doué finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, putting PSG in front. But the lead came under immediate threat as the French side were reduced to nine men following two red cards in quick succession. Even so, PSG held their ground—and somehow found a second goal to put the result beyond doubt.
Ousmane Dembélé delivered the knockout blow with his first touch of the game, finishing off a dazzling run from Achraf Hakimi, who danced through the Bayern defense before cutting the ball back perfectly.
In the other quarterfinal of the day, Real Madrid edged Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a tightly contested battle. The Spanish giants got the job done, but not without a few tense moments along the way.

For the semifinal clash, PSG will be without Willian Pacho, while Real Madrid won’t have Dean Huijsen, as both defenders received a red card. After the match, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois spoke to DAZN and noted the squad’s mentality about playing without the talented young defender.
“Obviously, it’s a significant loss,” Courtois said (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “He had settled in really well, played every game, and gave us a lot of options in the buildup. Now it’s someone else’s turn to be ready—this is Real Madrid, and there are plenty of players waiting for their chance. They have to grab that opportunity with both hands.”
