Real Madrid’s injury woes went from bad to worse today as the club confirmed a fresh injury for star player Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian international has picked up a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for at least three weeks, which could see him miss a series of crucial matches, including the upcoming Champions League game against Liverpool.

Seven Real Madrid players out vs Liverpool

Vinicius, in fact, won’t be the only Real Madrid missing from the trip to Anfield this week, as there will be a minimum of seven players absent from the clash.

The list is headed by Vinicius, the most recent addition to Real Madrid’s injury list. But it also includes his compatriot Rodrygo, who had picked up a knock against Osasuna.

Another Brazilian to miss the Liverpool game is Eder Militao, who has been ruled out for the season due to a serious ACL injury.

Militao’s defensive partner David Alaba is also unavailable as the Austrian continues his long recovery. There is hope in the Real Madrid camp that the former Bayern star could return to action by early 2025.

Elsewhere in defence, two key right back options in Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal are set to miss the trip as well, with the latter suffering a serious injury earlier in the campaign.

While Lucas might recover soon, Carvajal is unlikely to return to action anytime soon, which does raise the question on whether or not Real Madrid should go after a right-back in the upcoming January transfer window.

Finally, the seventh player on this list is Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman has the least serious knock and could make a comeback soon.

However, the Liverpool game might be too soon for the former AS Monaco starlet, who is still suffering from discomfort.
