Theo Hernandez has written an apology to his Milan teammates and fans for his costly red card in the Champions League play-off with Feyenoord. ‘I feel immense frustration.’
The tie was level at 1-1 on aggregate last night when Theo Hernandez received his second yellow card for simulation in the penalty area.
Down to 10 men, the Rossoneri conceded a goal and were eliminated from the competition 2-1 on aggregate by Feyenoord.

“Football is unpredictable: it offers us great joy, but also painful moments,” wrote Theo Hernandez on his Instagram account.
“I feel immense frustration today. I apologise to my teammates for having left them down to 10 men and apologise to the fans who always support us.
“But this club is a family and together we will recover. Standing back on our feet all together, starting with me.
“Forza Milan.”

There were mixed responses to the message on Instagram, with many fans urging him not to ‘leave as a loser’ and to instead prove the doubters wrong.
However, others confirmed they had lost patience with the France international, whose form over the last couple of years has been a long way off the player who helped win the Scudetto.
This red card for diving has put a dent in the negotiations to extend his current contract, especially after it was revealed that Milan received a huge January proposal from Serie A side Como to sell him.
