Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly on the brink of parting ways with the club, with his transfer to Al-Nassr about to go through.
Casemiro enjoyed an outstanding first season at United after joining from La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
However, his performances dramatically declined last season and he has struggled again during the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.
The Brazilian has made 22 club appearances this term, scoring three times, but he was an unused substitute against Liverpool on Sunday after struggling as a starter in the previous match vs. Newcastle.
He has been heavily linked to Al-Nassr over the past few days and a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Saudi Pro League outfit have offered him a £650,000-a-week contract. It was subsequently claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on a reunion with his former Real Madrid and Old Trafford teammate.
More recently, it emerged that Al-Nassr chiefs were pushing to get a deal over the line as soon as possible and it seems that a breakthrough has been found
According to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade via news outlet UOL, “Ronaldo has made the signing of the Brazilian midfielder a condition for continuing at Al Nassr.”
“The player is packing his bags to leave the English Championship and the Sovereign Fund has already closed the contract.”
Andrade further stated, “Casemiro is a player who is very close to leaving Manchester United. The Saudi Arabian Sovereign Fund, which manages the country’s main clubs, has practically closed the deal.”
It remains to be seen what fee United will receive from parting ways with Casemiro, although a sum of €30m has been suggested.
Casemiro’s exit would give United a bit more financial breathing room in their bid to bolster the squad for Amorim.
The Red Devils are back in action on Sunday when they take on Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.
