The next Newcastle United ‘priority’ signing?

I’ve been championing Newcastle United making a move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo on The Mag for quite some time.

Here’s me thinking that securing Champions League football would be a major carrot in swinging such a deal in our favour.

Think again, because it looks like Bryan Mbeumo has chosen to join Ruben Amorim’s positively hopeless Manchester United.

Now it must be stated here that we don’t know if Eddie Howe and the United heirachy were ever that keen on, or even serious, about making a bid for the Cameroonian international.

Mbeumo and his agents it seems have been more motivated by the hefty financial package on offer from the Salford Slackers, rather than what would be right for the player from a footballing viewpoint.

A player with so much talent coming into the peak of his career, could now be committing career suicide by joining this ailing busted flush of a club.

Man Utd are truly awful and there will be no quick route back to the glory days for this dysfunctional rabble.

It’ll be interesting now to see who will be the latest candidate in the press and media, to become a Newcastle United ‘priority’ signing.

A few people have been asking me why I think we haven’t made a signing so far and I’ve had to try and stop myself laughing.

The summer transfer window has just opened.

Although I would anticipate some incoming business being done in the next few weeks.

Going back to Bryan Mbeumo. One of the more amusing things I read on a well known mackem forum was that… “Mbeumo signing for Man U opens up the door for Amad Diallo to return to Sunderland in a permanent deal.”

With total delusion now in full swing it all reminds me of an old Nat King Cole number… ‘Those lazy, hazy, crazy, days Of Summer.’
