After Italy booked their place in the semi-finals, it's time to find out who they will face next week.

A drama-filled second half saw Cristiana Girelli and Ada Hegerberg at the heart of everything in the first quarter-final.

Italy impressed in the first half and took a well-earned lead after the break when Girelli poked home the opener. At the other end, Hegerberg missed the chance to equalise from the penalty spot — her second missed penalty of the tournament — before squeezing an equaliser in minutes later.

But the drama wasn't over and Italy rallied to create one final late chance and it was Girelli in the right place at the right time again, nodding home to send the Azzure to their first semi-final since 1997.

The second quarter-final sees Sweden meet England.

The two met at the semi-final stage three years ago, with the Lionesses winning 4-0 on their way to becoming European champions.

England lacked balance in their opener against France but have rediscovered it with Ella Toone coming into the number 10 position.

The Manchester United midfielder is hard-working and sensible in possession, offering England plenty to lean on, but the biggest thing she adds to the team is serious goal threat. A proper poacher who can smell danger and find pockets of space in the box and generally finishes calmly, her ability to pop up with a goal is huge for Sarina Wiegman's side.

Sweden came from behind to beat Germany 4-1 last time out, threatening superbly with their ability on the break in particular.

They're dangerous down both flanks, thanks to playing with an attack-minded right-back on that side and Barcelona star Fridolina Rolfö on the left wing. England massively struggled to the threat posed by France out wide in their opening game.
